Ta da!

Progress on the regency stays. I was going to hand sew the channels for the cording but that would have taken forever. Then I tried doing it on the treadle singer but also takes a while, so it’s the brand spankin’ new machine(well from last year).

And I’m finally knitting up the blue handspun that I made. It’s knitty.com ‘s branching out. I’m using my double pointed needles with little rubber bands on one side to stop the yarn from falling off the end.

After drawing my pattern out on paper, I cut it out of this heavy cotton duck/broadcloth(?) to check fit. Looks okay so far. Made small modifications like shortening it and cutting the cups a little bigger. Now I have this layer and a layer of cotton muslin pinned together.

Inspired by Kathrine’s 1790’s transitional stays. After the stays are done I’m going to make a toile of the bodice for a drop front dress.
